About


Jennifer Wimmer, Managing Principal, has over two decades of professional design experience. After working with a nationally recognized architecture, interior design, and planning firm for fifteen years, she created JiW Architecture + Consulting in 2017.

She received her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Florida and her Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a minor in Architectural History from the University of Virginia. She worked for the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) after graduating from UVA. As a graduate student, she studied and taught at the Preservation Institute Nantucket (PI:N) and studied at the Vicenza Institute of Architecture in Vicenza, Italy. 

She is a registered architect with the Commonwealths of Virginia and North Carolina. She is a certified Construction Documents Technologist through the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and she is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, Building Design + Construction (LEED AP BD+C).

She served ten years on the Commission of Architectural Review for Richmond, VA is a founding member of Storefront for Community Design, a nonprofit design resource center for the city of Richmond.  She currently resides in Mathews County, VA.
